Unique Features

St. Anne’s Library

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”  An author near and dear to many of us, Dr. Seuss, said this and it reflects the correlation between early reading exposure and future success in life. This correlation is one that St. Anne’s believes in and wants to help facilitate as we pride ourselves on preparing your children for their next stage in life. We feel that an important aspect of this is through literacy development, specifically to support reading out-loud and literacy activities between you and your children. This is why we are so excited about St. Anne’s Library, located here at St. Anne’s in the common area. The library is filled with books aimed at increasing literacy development and capturing the attention of your baby, toddler, and preschooler. The library is open to all St. Anne’s Families, as well as families from St. Margret’s and the Childbirth and Parenting Assistance Programs. We are excited to be able to provide children with high quality books available for checkout, as well as literacy workshops, family literacy activity nights, and parent education materials using curriculum from Reading is Fundamental. We look forward to seeing you and your family at the St. Anne’s Lending Library.

Natural Playscape

Our preschool outdoor area is a natural playscape. Natural playscapes are extraordinary places for young children to discover themselves and the world around them. Since children learn with their whole bodies we crafted our natural play space with our children as our guides. The natural playscape provides for imaginative play, big body movement, balancing, climbing, riding, exploring nature and relaxing and enjoying time with each other. It has unique features such as a child-sized pergola, raised vegetable gardens, wooden teepee with imaginary “fire pit”, and child-sized log benches and stumps for sitting and enjoying each other. The circular sidewalk makes for fun on trikes and scooters. The environment changes as children’s interests evolve. The seasons may bring in leaves and hay bales in the fall, snow castles or igloos in the winter, flowers and plants in the spring, and water activities in the summer. As our children’s interests blossom so does our playscape!

Kids Patio

Picture a patio just for kids- a place to play, learn, or simply relax and enjoy each other’s company. Our Kids Patio is that place! It features a small nature area, garden, and greenhouse, and art table to spark fun and creativity. This is an outdoor learning area perfect for ball play, tag or in the summer months frolicking in a water sprinkler!

Web Cameras

Web cameras are positioned over the window in each classroom. What are web cameras? Web cameras are a live feed video which provide a complete view of the classroom except for bathrooms and diaper changing areas. It is saved on a DVR to assist in providing a secure environment for our children and staff.

Kids Kitchen

A modern fully equipped kitchen made especially for children with child-sized furniture provides an extension of their classroom learning. On any day you can smell homemade pizza or freshly baked cookies.

Roof Top Play Area

Another unique feature is our roof top play area that provides a covered outdoor play area free from the wet weather allowing the children to get fresh air. In the summer children enjoy participating in soccer tots in this area.
