Ms. Karla, Lead Toddler Teacher
I have been an Early Childhood Teacher for the past twenty-two years, I received my ECE Certificate in 1989. In 2013, with a scholarship from Childcare Aware I was able to return to SFCC and I completed my AA Degree last March.
I have worked with all age groups from Infants to Preschool. Working with children has always been my passion and I am amazed daily at the opportunity that I have been given. I am very dedicated to provide a positive, safe environment that will give each child equal opportunities to explore, play and learn. I am responsive to the needs of each child in my care by facilitating learning that promotes self-worth, value and independence.
I started at St. Anne’s in September 2016 and I am very happy to be part of an organization that values the importance of early childhood education.
Personal Teaching Mission or Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy centers around each individual child and being respectful and responsive to their needs and the daily interactions that take place. I believe in the power of play where each child is given choices to pursue their own interests in an environment that is safe and supports learning.
